There’s Time Left to Give to Mini-Scholarship Drive

Now through June 30, the myDSU scholarship drive is reaching out to the entire DSU community – challenging prospective donors to offer a new level of leadership and commitment.
Our students work hard to keep up their grade point averages, but in tough economic times many face financial difficulties to continue their education. Donations to this 90-day scholarship drive can assist many deserving students to return to DSU in the fall to concentrate on their studies.

National Reports Feature DSU’s Green Initiatives


DSU celebrated Earth Day early on April 20 with activities that highlighted the University’s commitment to environmentally friendly efforts through its "Go Green" agenda. Both the American College & University Presidents' Climate Commitment and the Minority-Serving Institution Green Report recognized DSU's initiatives.

DSU Professor Relates Earthquake Experience


Dr. Gabriel D. Gwanmesia, DSU alumnus and professor of physics, left for a two-month research sabbatical in Japan on Jan. 29. Little did he know, he would witness the greatest earthquake to ever hit Japan.

Athletics Hall of Fame Nominations Sought


DSU is seeking nominations for its next Athletics Hall of Fame class. Former DSU student-athletes who graduated or completed their eligibility prior to 2006 after two years of participation in one or more sports are eligible for consideration.

Alumni Inducted into State Hall of Fame


Three DSU alumni – Jimmy Strong, James H. Solomon Jr. and Norman Oliver – were among the 2011 inductee class of the Delaware Afro-American Sports Hall of Fame during an April 16 ceremony.

Hornets End Spring Camp with a Scrimmage


The DSU football team wrapped up its first spring camp under new head coach Kermit Blount with an April 17 full-contact scrimmage that featured nearly 70 plays.
