 Location: Education & Humanities Building, Lobby

  • Registration and check in at the lobby of the Education and Humanities building (receive your special Parents Day gift at registration only). Continental breakfast will be available.
  • Purchase discount Parents Day football game tickets in the lobby
    – $10 per adult ticket, $5 for children 12 and under (CASH ONLY)
  • Purchase discount Parents Day luncheon tickets in the lobby
    –
    $5 per adult ticket, $3 for children 12 and under (CASH ONLY)

  • University Update—a presentation by Dr. Harry L. Williams, president, Delaware State University
  • Greetings from Dr. Alton Thompson, provost and vice president for Academic Affairs
  • Meet Ms. Candy Young, new athletics director
  • Meet Ms. Shelbe Hudson, SGA president
  • Purchase discount Parents Day football game tickets in the lobby until 10:30 a.m. – $10 per adult ticket, $5 for children 12 and under (CASH ONLY)

10:45-11:45 a.m.

PRIDE in Planning – an interactive workshop presented by the DSU Office of Financial Aid

Location: Education & Humanities Building, Theater

The Office of Financial Aid will discuss strategies for preparing your student for an entire academic year:

  • The importance of planning ahead
  • The importance of meeting financial aid deadlines
  • How finishing school on time will have a positive impact on your finances

OR

PRIDE in Health – an interactive workshop presented by the Office of Student Health Services, Counseling and Wellness & Recreation Center staff

Location: Science Center Building, Room 223

The offices presenting this workshop take a very holistic health approach to addressing the physical, mental and spiritual needs of your students. During the workshop, representatives will provide more details about the programs offered that help students to take pride in themselves and enjoy healthy, happy, Hornet lifestyles:

  • Hornet Hustle 5K
  • Peer counseling
  • SWAT

OR

PRIDE in Careers – an interactive workshop presented by the DSU Office of Career Services

Location: Bank of America Building, Longwood Auditorium

Career Services supports student achievement through academic, social and career sustainability suitable to today's global society. The workshop will discuss:

  • How to be an advocate and career coach for your student by learning about resources that strengthen their professional and leadership skills.
  • Career Seminar and Professional Development Series
  • Annual Career Fair
 

12-1 p.m.

Location:  Martin Luther King, Jr. Student Center, 2nd floor parlors
  • Enjoy the President's Parents Day luncheon on the second floor
    -- $5 for adults, $3 for children 12 and under (cash accepted onsite)
    -- Luncheon menu: Lazy country chicken, sliced brisket, macaroni and cheese, baked beans, coleslaw, cornbread fiesta muffins, assorted rolls with butter, assorted cookies and dessert bars, ice water and iced tea.
  • Visit the DSU Bookstore on the first floor from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
    – 20 percent off parent discount coupon available for Saturday, October 13
  • Last chance to buy discount football game tickets (football game tickets are only available at the ticket windows of Alumni Stadium after 12:30 p.m.) – $10 per adult ticket, $5 for children 12 and under.
