The role and function of the Department of English and Foreign Languages at Delaware State University is threefold:
- The department provides instruction in language, composition, speech, and humanities for the general education program;
- The department offers instruction in language and literature, speech, methods of teaching English, linguistics, and language arts for the teacher-education program;
- The department provides instruction in languages and literature, speech, drama, grammar and composition, and linguistics for the liberal arts program.
