On behalf of the faculty and staff, I thank you for your interest in our College of Business (COB) and for viewing our website. Living up to our mission and vision statements, we provide a student-centered learning environment that prepares students to be successful in their future business careers. In doing so, the College aspires to be one of the top business schools in the mid-Atlantic region in both undergraduate and graduate education.
The primary focus of our faculty is to develop student potential. We develop students to become critical thinkers and analytical business problem solvers. In this process of learning about business, students are provided opportunities to develop leadership skills for their chosen careers through in-class projects, internships and cooperative education experiences.
True indicators of quality business education are the external evaluations a college receives. In recent years, our College of Business has been recognized by three outside agencies for its quality programs at both the undergraduate and graduate levels:
1) The COB was recognized in 2007 as being a leader in offering quality business education at both levels by receiving the coveted business accreditation award from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International (AACSB). Of approximately 2000 university business degree programs in the United States and 8,000 business degree programs offered by universities in other countries, only 568 have been accredited by AACSB. Accreditation signifies that “We are among the best business programs in the world.”
2) The Princeton Review and Random House have selected us for their 2009 edition book to be recognized as one of the 269 best business schools in the U.S offering quality MBA programs;
3) The Educational Benchmarking, Inc. organization has also given us an award for our continuous improvement efforts in undergraduate assessment of learning.
I invite you to review our website information for specific programs of interest. My best wishes to you.
