Online Giving
The DSU Foundation is pleased to offer 24/7 online giving as a convenient option for donors. Donors may simply go to our secure web site to make a gift by donating online. By making a donation online, the gift will be processed within 24 hours, upon which a receipt will promptly be emailed to you, followed by an acknowledgement letter. In addition to the convenience of online giving, you may also earn miles and other rewards, if offered by your credit card company for using their card. Debit cards may be used for contributions, as well as credit cards: Visa, Mastercard, and Discover.
Credit Card
A credit card gift utilizing Visa, MasterCard, or Discover is one of the easiest, most efficient ways of giving to DSU. If concerned about contributing online, you may make a donation over the phone, by calling 302.857.6056. The gift will be processed within 24 hours.
Checks/Money Orders
If a check or money order is your preferred method of giving, you may download, print, and complete a Contribution Form (Acrobat PDF format) and mail the Contribution Form with your check or money order, made payable to the Delaware State University Foundation to:

Matching Gifts
Employers provide important financial support through their employee matching gift programs. Check with your Human Resources office to determine whether your employer offers such a program. If eligible, simply fill out the appropriate matching gift form and send it to the Office of Development. Matching gifts are included as part of the individual’s total gifts for giving society level memberships. If your employer provides matching gifts, they will supply you with the appropriate form or online link.
EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer
Another easy and efficient way to make a gift to DSU is through Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT). Using EFT, you may give to DSU in weekly, monthly, or annual increments in the amount that you choose. Contact the Office of Development (Phone 302.857.6055 or email dsufoundation@desu.edu) if you prefer to give to EFT; we will promptly forward the appropriate form to begin using this convenient giving tool.
Life Income Gifts
Donors may transfer cash or stock to Delaware State University and establish charitable gift annuities that provide them with an annual return greater than most bank Certificates of Deposit. This income is paid to the donors for life, after which the assets are distributed to the University. This type of gift has the dual advantages of increasing donor income and making a significant and deductible gift. Contact us to make such transfers and to establish charitable gift annuities.
Bequests
The federal estate tax can still take 40% – 50% of one’s estate at the time of death. A charitable bequest to the Delaware State University Foundation, Inc. in a donor’s will can benefit the University and reduce estate taxes. Your legal counsel will assist you in this matter.
Giving appreciated securities (Stocks)
Gifts of securities offer significant tax advantages and are easy to transact. All donors should contact the Office of the Development to receive specific transaction transfer instructions: Phone: 302.857.6056, Email: dsufoundation@desu.edu
