New Dean Appointed for DSU College of Ed, Health & Public Policy
Dr. Frederick K. Asinor has been appointed to be the dean of Delaware State University’s College of Education, Health and Public Policy.

Dr. Asinor arrives at DSU after serving since November 2011 as a part-time executive director of the Ocular Melanoma Foundation in Washington, D.C. In the two years prior to that, he served as the executive vice president of the One World Foundation in Burtonsville, Md., and the president and chief academic officer of MASA Healthcare in Owings Mills, Md.
From 2003-2006, Dr. Asinor was the manager of Continuing Education Programs for the American Public Health Association. He also served from 1995 to 1999 as the president and CEO of Patient Satisfaction Associates, Inc.
Teaching in higher education has been a frequent vocation throughout Dr. Asinor’s career. He has held a variety of teaching positions at institutions such as the Maryland Institute of Art, the Center for Allied Health Education at Southeastern University in Washington, D.C., Sojourner-Douglass College in Baltimore, Md., University of Ghana Medical School, and Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, Ga.
Dr. Asinor has a diploma of journalism from the School of Journalism, Firlsham Hermitage, England, and a Bachelor of Arts (Cum Laude) from Morehouse College. He then earned a Master of Science at the Medill School of Journalism, Northwestern University, Evanston, Ill., and a Doctor of Education from Atlanta University, Ga., followed by post-doctorate work at the University of Alabama and The Johns Hopkins University.
The new dean will begin his DSU tenure on Aug. 13. The College of Education, Health & Public Policy encompasses the departments of Education, Nursing, Public & Allied Health Sciences, and Social Work. In addition to the undergraduate degree programs in the College, master’s degree programs are offered in social work and several education majors, and a doctorate program is offered in Education Leadership.
