Saturday, April 2, 2016 -
8:30am to 4:00pm

Delaware State University will be partnering with the Delaware Prevention Coalition to host the 5th Annual Inspired Day of Service.     

This day of service is an opportunity for us to demonstrate the core values of the university and a terrific opportunity for Inspire Scholars to work towards the completion of their community service requirements. 

All registered volunteers will be provided with continental breakfast and a boxed lunch. This event is open to all current students of Delaware State University.

Inspired Day of Service Schedule

8:30 a.m. Check-In / Continental Breakfast

9:00 a.m. Opening Ceremony, Martin Luther King Student Center

9:45 a.m.  Depart on buses to community service projects (boxed lunches provided for students)

Wilmington, DE:  Bellevue Community Center

Volunteers will work on various projects at the Bellevue Community Center including building new benches for the pavilion in the community garden and a neighborhood cleanup around the center.

Wilmington, DE:  West End Neighborhood House

Volunteers will participate in the Delaware Prevention Coalition Book Buddy Day which includes reading and games at Woodlawn Library.

Dover, DE:  Simon Circle Boys and Girls Club

Volunteers will participate in a clothing drive to help local communities.

Dover, DE:  Habitat for Humanity

The volunteers will work on one of Habitat for Humanity's building projects in Kent County.

Georgetown, DE:  First State Community Action Agency

Volunteers will assist with packaging and writing correspondence of support for USA Troops overseas. 

 

4:00 p.m. Buses departing from project areas back to campus
