Inspired Day of Service
Saturday, April 6, 2013 - 8:30am to 4:00pm
On April 6th, Delaware State University will be partnering with the United Way of Delaware to host the 2nd Annual Inspired Day of Service.
This day of service is an opportunity for us to demonstrate the core values of the university and a terrific opportunity for Inspire Scholars to work towards the completion of their community service requirements.

All registered volunteers will be provided with continental breakfast and a boxed lunch.

9:00 a.m. Opening Ceremony

9:45 a.m. Depart on buses to community service projects (boxed lunches provided for students)
City of Wilmington: East Side Charter School - FULL
East Side Charter School is dedicated to educate children in a safe, caring and nurturing environment so that they can excel academically and socially. East Side Charter School believes that all children are capable of mastering content standards and meeting social expectations when they have thorough understanding, adequate time and appropriate support. Volunteers will be working to help paint classrooms and perform routine maintenance on the playground at the charter school. .
New Castle County: Newark Day Nursery and Children’s Center (NDNCC) - FULL
Newark Day Nursery and Children’s Center is United Way of Delaware partner agency that serves 180 children. NDNCC is dedicated to providing the highest quality early childhood and school age services to educate, enrich, and inspire children and youth from culturally and economically diverse families. Volunteers are needed to assist with weeding and mulching outside and painting of several classrooms.
Kent County: Simon’s Circle Boys and Girls Club - FULL
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware serve more than 25,000 children in all areas of the state -- about one out of every five school-aged children in Delaware, more than any other youth-serving agency. Volunteers will be helping with painting on the inside of the club and refurbishing the outdoor playground.
Sussex County: Oak Orchard Boys and Girls Club - FULL
Volunteers will be split into groups to provide the Boys and Girls Club in Millsboro with the help it needs painting on the interior and landscaping on the exterior
