The Delaware State University Drop-In Writing Studio is located in Room 205 of the William C. Jason Library.
Students may drop in for assistance with any writing assignment across the curriculum. Professional staff and Writing Studio tutors will offer suggestions, tutor in grammar, and assist in formulating ideas. They will not correct or edit papers. Students should allow adequate time for proper tutoring. Therefore, students must request services at least 24 hours prior to the assignment due date. Individualized computer based (PLATO) Reading & Writing and Learning Strategies Seminars are offered. Individualized study skills training are available. All Writing Studio tutors have faculty recommendations, meet strict grade standards, and are trained by the Writing Studio Coordinator.
The Writing Studio employs the “drop-in” system so no appointment or pre-registration is necessary. Many faculty members recommend that student consult a writing tutor before handing in their final papers.
