Delaware State University will feature the following events and exhibitions during the 2013 Black History Month:
 

The King Center Imaging Project 
Jan. 28 - Feb. 1
MLK Student Center, Parlor A  

On display in the Parlor A of the MLK Student Center on campus, the digital exhibition showcases Dr. King’s life through the speeches and correspondences that helped change the heart of this nation. Visitors to this exhibition will have access to about 200,000 documents relating to Dr. King and the Civil Rights movement. Because it is the exhibition’s first 2013 stop in the U.S., a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday Jan. 28. Throughout the week, the exhibition will be free and open to the public each day from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

A Month Long MLK in Motion 
Friday, Feb. 1
MLK Student Center, 1st Fl Lobby & 2nd Fl Mezzanine

The display will feature a motivating Gallery Walk of inspiring pictures and quotes from famous African American men and women.

Django Unchained Discussion Forum
Thursday, Feb. 7 at 7 p.m.
Education & Humanities Theatre 

A dialogue between a guest panel and the audience over the myriad of themes and topics that are given rise by the Quentin Taratino film, such as the cinematic portrayal of slavery, the economics of moviemaking for black and white filmmakers, and the effectiveness or the shortcomings of the conveyance in films of aspects of history. 

Ain't I a Woman by Margot Emery
Saturday, Feb. 9 at 7 p.m.
Education & Humanities Theatre

A play by Mrs. Margot Emery in the Education & Humanities Theatre. The production is a musical and theatrical celebration of four renowned African American women: Zora Neale Hurston, Clementine Hunter, Sojourner Truth, and Fannie Lou Hamer. 

2013 DSU Founders Day Celebration 
Thursday, Feb. 14 at 11 a.m.
Education & Humanities Theatre

The 2013 DSU Founders Day Celebration will highlight and tell the local black history stories of the University’s 10 permanent presidents and two acting presidents.

An Evening with John Legend 
Wednesday, Feb. 27 at 7 p.m.
Memorial Hall Gymnasium 

An Evening With John Legend, R&B and Hip Hop singer and songwriter, in the Memorial Hall Gymnasium on campus. Ticket information TBA. For more info, visit the DSU website
