Support Dr. William B. DeLauder Endowment
In Memory of Dr. William B. DeLauder, 1937-2019
Dr. William B. DeLauder served as President from 1987-2003, when the institution was still known as Delaware State College. One of his key accomplishments was working with then-Governor Tom Carper and the General Assembly on the elevation to university status as Delaware State University in 1993.
During his 16-year tenure as Chief Executive, he also launched the first successful capital fundraising campaign that raised over $10 million and managed the development of major improvements to the Dover campus, including the conversion to a walking campus and the construction of the Claibourne D. Smith Administration Building and Bank of America Building.
