Resources

Many resources are available to students while searching for financial assistance.  Exploring these resources will provide students with helpful information in financing their education.

Delaware State University

  • Academic Advising Center - Provides professional academic advising to students who are open majors, first-year students with declared majors, pre-majors, pre-professional majors and non-degree, special status students. All students are welcome to contact the Academic Advising Center with questions.
  • Admissions - Provides a wealth of information about the University of Iowa campus and its offerings.
  • Office of Registrar - Provides information on services related to student records such as the course catalog, registration, fees, grading process, graduation and diploma services, residency status, academic calendar, verification of registration.
  • University Loan Collections Office - Provides information on the billing and collection of federal and institutional student loans (other than Federal Direct Loans and Private Loans).
  • Office of Student Accounts - Provides information on receipt and payment of university bills, disbursement of financial aid funds, and 1098-T forms.
  • Campus Life - Provides resources for students, parents and families to assist them in connecting with student life and ensuring student success.
  • University Housing - Provides information on housing and dining programs designed to meet the diverse developmental and educational needs of students.

  • Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) - Information and application instructions for filing the FAFSA on the web.
  • Funding Your Education - Provides a comprehensive guide to federal financial aid including an explanation of the three major federal financial aid programs (grants, loans, and work-study).
  • Higher Education Tax Benefits - Tax benefits may be available for qualified students or parents paying education costs. Information (including how to obtain a 1098-T form and cost of attendance amounts for room and board) is available on the Financial Aid website.
  • Loan Consolidation - Assists students in determining if they should consolidate their student loans and how to apply for a consolidation loan.
  • National Student Loan Data Systems (NSLDS) - The U.S. Department of Education’s central database for Title IV student aid. This site provides information on individual student’s loan and/or grant amounts, outstanding balances, loan statuses, and disbursements. 
  • Student Aid on the Web - Provides information from the U.S. Department of Education on preparing for and funding education beyond high school.

Scholarship Searches

  • College Board Scholarship Search - The College Board is a not-for-profit membership association whose mission is to connect students to college success and opportunity.
  • FastWeb - A source of local, national and college-specific scholarships.
  • FinAid Scholarships - Provides information on scholarship search sites.

Calculators

  • Net Price Calculator - This tool, developed by College Raptor for prospective/incoming undergraduate students, provides an estimate of the Cost Of Attendance - and the financial aid for which they may qualify while attending Delaware State University.
  • FAFSA4caster - This tool, developed by the U.S. Department of Education, Federal Student Aid Office, provides information about the financial aid application process and options for paying educational expenses.
  • Federal Student Aid Calculators - These calculators were developed by the U.S. Department of Education, Federal Student Aid Office. One calculator provides information about developing a budget by determining expenses and available income. Another calculator estimates loan repayment amounts.
  • FinAid Calculators - These calculators were established by FinAid, a private company, as a public service to assist families in determining estimates of college expenses, how much a family needs to save, and how much financial aid will be needed.

  • College Board - The College Board is a not-for-profit membership association whose mission is to connect students to college success and opportunity.
  • FinAid - FinAid was established in the fall of 1994 as a public service. This has grown into a comprehensive source of student financial aid information, advice, and tools.
  • NASFAA-Student Aid - The National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA) website offers financial aid information for students and parents.
  • State Higher Education Agencies - A listing of agencies in each state or territory that are responsible for state-funded student grant and aid programs.

  • Be a Smart Consumer - The National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA) has a variety of free resources to help students and families be smart consumers to avoid scams when completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and navigating the financial aid process. These resources remind students and families that many student financial aid services are available free of charge.

  • U.S. Department of Education Office of Inspector General - The U.S. Department of Education Office of Inspector General conducts audits, investigations, and inspections of education programs and operations.
  • Federal Trade Commission - The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) works for the consumer to prevent fraudulent, deceptive, and unfair business practices in the marketplace and to provide information to help consumers spot, stop, and avoid them.
  • Better Business Bureau - All Better Business Bureau (BBB) accredited businesses have agreed to live up to BBB Principles for Trust, a comprehensive set of policies, procedures and best practices focused on how businesses should treat the public – fairly and honestly in all circumstances.
