Housing
All students who reside in University Housing are required to be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours per semester. Students who are enrolled in less than 12 credit hours per semester will be assessed a part-time boarder fee to adjust the student’s account to reflect full-time charges.
Boarding Students:
BOARDING STUDENTS: Freshmen are assigned rooms in traditional residence halls, which are co-ed facilities. Upperclassmen, in traditional housing assignments, have the option to apply for the other University housing once a minimum of 27 credit hours have been obtained.

Housing Deposit: A $200.00 housing deposit is required to secure your housing assignment for the academic year. Housing is available on a first-come, first-served basis. The housing deposit is non-refundable if not received by June 30.
Security Deposit/Application Fee: A $300.00 security deposit and a $100.00 application fee are required to secure your housing assignment in the University Courtyard or the University Village apartment complexes. The application fee is non-refundable.

SENIOR CITIZEN’S FEE WAIVER Program
Delaware State University proudly supports lifelong learning and is committed to helping older adults pursue educational opportunities. If you are a Delaware resident age 60 or older. In that case, you may be eligible to take courses at DSU tuition-free through the Senior Citizen Tuition Waiver Program, as authorized by Delaware law (14 Del. C. § 3410).
Who is Eligible?
To participate in this program, you must:
- Be 60 years of age or older at the time you register, and a formal degree candidate
- Be a resident of the State of Delaware.
What Costs Are Covered?
If you qualify, you can enroll in credit or non-credit courses without paying tuition, registration fees, or standard academic fees. You can choose to take courses for credit or audit them.
However, you are still responsible for:
- The cost of textbooks and other required materials,
- Lab fees, technology fees, or any other fees that are not waived.
Important Notes
- Enrollment is based on available space. You can only register after the regular registration period ends, if seats are still open.
- The tuition waiver does not apply to selective or capacity-limited programs, such as Nursing, Honors, or other restricted admissions programs.

LAB FEES: Laboratory fees are assessed for some courses to cover the cost of supplies and special facilities. Labs may vary from $10.00 to $20,000.00. The Airway Science Labs vary from $5,000.00 to $20,000.00 per related course.
STUDENT CENTER COMPLEX FEE: Goes toward the cost of the New Strength and Conditioning Facility, Wellness Center and the Student Center.
ATHLETIC FEE: The athletic fee is a general university fee charged to all registered students (full and part time). The fee helps the University provide support in several areas. Below are some of the areas that the fee supports:

- Enhanced quality of student life
