Del State welcomes home Dr. Willis Lonzer III at Alpha Phi Alpha event

Dr. Willis L. Lonzer III came home to his alma mater recently in his latest leadership capacity – as the national President of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.

Dr. Lonzer attended the March 19 Hybrid Spring Staff Meeting of the Mid-Atlantic Association of Alpha Phi Alpha (MAAC), which was also the Association’s 30th anniversary.

After the MAAC Spring Staff Meeting, the fraternity held a gala event, all taking place in the Martin Luther King Jr. Student Center.

Dr. Lonzer – who began his term as the President of the national Alpha Phi Alphi Fraternity in 2021 – graduated from Delaware State University in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. He also possesses a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Akron.

He is an executive scientist with 20 years of global pharmaceutical research/development and global medical affairs experience.

A native of Richmond, Va., Dr. Lonzer joined the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity through the Gamma Sigma Chapter at Del State in 1986.
