Poverty Symposium

The poverty simulation experience is designed to help participants begin to understand what it might be like to live in a typical low-income family trying to survive from month to month.  This is a simulation, not a game.  The objective is to sensitize participants to the realities faced by low-income people.

Objectives

• To highlight the racial wealth divide in Delaware
• To better understand daily survival challenges for those living in poverty
• To initiate discussion among policy makers on how to address the disparity
