Is to increase the student’s knowledge of the company; as well as teach career and professional development.
Digital Portfolios
Also known as Electronic Portfolio or e-Portfolio, is a tool that collects the set of content, documents, works, presentations, and others with the aim of presenting the best work of an individual or organization, presented in digital format.
Face-to-Face Interviewing
Structured interviews conducted by trained interviewers who use a standardized interview protocol and a standardized set of responses for recording participants’ responses.
Job Shadowing
A type of on-the-job training that allows an interested employee to follow and closely observe another employee performing the role. This type of learning is usually used to onboard new employees into an organization or into a new role. Job shadowing may also be used as a learning opportunity for interns or students to gain an understanding of the role requirements and the job tasks.

Uses the platform, Symplicity to help students connect with industries/corporations for internships/shadowing opportunities/jobs in their respective majors.
Jobs/Internships Search Strategies
Career Services will Identify fields/job titles/organizations of interest to start your job search. Come to Career Services if you do not know where to start. We also assist students in the top networking strategies, how to target the right job, and stay on top of the industry trends and news.
Individual Coaching
Coaches assess each person’s suitability for different jobs and help them to prepare for a specific occupation. Some of their specific duties include - Helping students identify personal goals, overcome personal barriers, and develop leadership skills.
Graduate School Application Assistance
There are five main factors that most institutions look for when selecting graduate students: academic records, personal statement, letters of recommendation, research experience (and/or clinical experience if you are applying to a clinical program). The Career Services office guides the students through this process.

Career Seminar Series
Offers students experiential learning through various corporate/alumni panelists events where you can approach speakers from various fields to discuss their career paths.
Internship Opportunities Aboard
An opportunity for students and graduates to gain international work experience in their chosen field. These programs typically last for 3 to 12 months and allow participants to learn new skills and build their professional networks.
Career Exploration & Assessments
Uses the assessment tool Pathway U to encourage students to identify their passions and pursue careers according to increased odds of fulfillment and ultimate success.
Fall/Spring Career Pathway Expos
An event that gives students and employers a chance to meet one another, establish professional relationships, and discuss potential job and/or internship opportunities. Many employers from a variety of industries attend, and there are both general and specialized career fair events.
On-Campus/Virtual Recruiting Information Sessions
Career Services hosts several in-person and virtual Information Sessions with to industry companies. These sessions are to promote information about the company, and the internship/job/shadowing opportunities they have available to our students across all majors.

Focused on engaging Students and Alumni and offering meaningful opportunities to stay connected, the DSU Connect Platform provides professional connections and resources and is designed to help students and alumni connect with those in the DSU Community; facilitate connections between alumni and current students; and to assist alumni and students in growing professionally and offering resources for development
