Complete Works of Shakespeare (adbridged) Production at DSU
Delaware State University theatre students and community members will perform a modernized, witty, ribald, and raucous new take on the Bard’s greatest plays in The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) during three performances March 29-30 in the Education & Humanities Theatre on campus.
This comedy has it all: wigs, men in drag, swords, a splash-zone, authentic Scottish accents; and that’s just the period accurate parts of the show. Thirty-seven of Shakespeare’s most famous and well known plays will be performed in a break-neck 97 minutes! Three madcap actors in tights will weave their wicked way through all of Shakespeare’s comedies, histories, and tragedies in one wild ride that will leave you breathless and helpless with laughter.
Featuring a cast of student and community actors, including Chloe Humphrey and David Feliciano as themselves, and Andrew Pomerleau as someone else entirely.
The show is directed by Dr. Amanda Anderson. General admission for the public is $5. A matinee will be offered at 2 p.m. Friday March 29 followed by 7 p.m. evening shows on Friday, March 29 and Saturday, March 30.
