DSU Alumnus Dr. Carlton Cannon Jr. in Concert April 11 at DSU
The College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences will present DSU alumnus and saxophonist Dr. Carlton Cannon, Jr. in a “Coming Home Concert" in a performance with Delaware State University

Jazz Ensemble and Combo at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 11 in the Education and Humanities Theatre.
Cannon, a music product of the DSU Class of 1999, is a jazz and gospel praise and worship recording artist, the director of bands at the Cab Calloway School of the Arts in Wilmington, and an ordained bishop in the Church of God denomination. In addition to earning a BA in Music at DSU, his musical development included mentorship by two jazz icons – the late Dr. Donald Byrd and the late Grover Washington Jr.
During the 1990s while attending DSU, Dr. Cannon performed in Dover, throughout Delaware and beyond with the band Three Guys So Far.
Admission is $5 for the general public and free to students of any age (college students with current ID).
The proceeds will go toward an educational support initiative for current DSU music students in the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences.
