Friday, August 25, 2017

DSU Board Chair Wilma Mishoe and Vice Chair Devona Williams hold resolution presented to them by the Wilmington City CouncilThe Wilmington City Council took time out during its Aug. 24 public meeting to congratulate Dr. Wilma Mishoe and Dr. Devona Williams on their respective elections as the new chairwoman and vice chairwoman of the DSU Board  of Trustees.

The council extended its congratulations through formal resolutions presented during the meeting. Both documents acknowledged the life achievements of both women, and the resolution to Dr. Mishoe also noted the historic link that prompts recall of her father Dr. Luna I. Mishoe’s presidential tenure at then-Delaware State College from 1960-1987.

With Council President Hanifa Shabazz presiding, the resolutions were read with DSU councilpersons and DSU alumni Nnamdi Chukwuocha, Samuel L. Guy and Zanthia Oliver standing alongside the honorees’ families.

The following day, the new board chair and vice chair were introduced to the DSU’s teaching community at the annual Faculty and Staff Institute in the E&H Theatre.
