Board of Trustees have lunch with students

The DSU Board of Trustees learned more about the University’s international programs by getting to know some of the students who are benefiting from them.

The trustees, along with DSU Acting President Wilma Mishoe, had lunch with students who represented those who had taken part in study-abroad experiences, international students who have come to the U.S. to take classes at DSU, as well as DSU Dreamers (undocumented immigrant students) who are enrolled through the Opportunity Scholarship.

During the luncheon, the trustees heard from several of the attending students – Francess Blake, who studied in Poland last spring; Estephaney Martinez, a DSU Dreamer; and Xiaoting Xu, an exchange student from China.

The trustees also heard from Joshua Patterson, a recipient of the Board of Trustees Scholarship.

In all, about 10 student took part in the luncheon with the board members.
