State Chamber event held at REEC

The Delaware State Chamber of Commerce held a Networking Breakfast at Delaware State University’s Renewable Energy Education Center (REEC) located in the Mishoe Science Center (North) on campus.

This was the first time the networking breakfast was held at DSU.  Forty-two people attended representing a broad spectrum of businesses, education, and nonprofit organizations interested in renewable and sustainable energy.

The event is a monthly gathering to give Chamber members an opportunity to hear the latest news from the Delaware business community.  As the host, DSU showcased the work taking place at the REEC.  Professors at the center shared various projects they are working on including kinetic energy, hydrogen cells, solar, bio fuels, and others.

The attendees heard remarks from Mike Quaranta, president of DSCC.  He shared how important it is for the Delaware business community to come together to share ideas and help educate the broader segment of leaders in the state. Also, Judy Diogo, president of the CDCC, shared the commitment of both Chambers to continue working with all businesses in the state.

The REEC opened in 2016 with a grant from Delmarva Power, an Exelon Company.  The mission of REEC is to enhance the education and training capacity of the University and to provide the general public with renewable energy literacy and training.
