2019 Mr and Miss DSU crowned
The institution crowned its 2019 Mr. and Miss DSU – Marcus Dunn and Tahjah Warner – during its annual Coronation Ceremony on Sept. 15 in the Education and Humanities Theatre.

Mr. DSU Marcus Dunn – who hails from Jersey City, N.J. – is a senior Business Management major with concentration in marketing. He is the son of James and Carol Dunn.
Mr. Dunn has served as vice president for the God Brothers organization, and is a student mentor. His recognition on the Dean’s List and through other academic awards has made him an example to his peers.
After graduation, Marcus plans to pursue a Master of Business Administration and then become a certified real estate agent and data analyst.
The motto he lives by: “Live by the DRIP, understand the DRIP, most importantly respect the DRIP.” (DRIP – Dedication, Reliability, Integrity and Perserverance.)
Miss DSU Tahjah Warner is an Accounting major. She notes that she is a “product of Prince George’s County, Md.,” where she was raised by her single mother Leslie Warner and her grandmother Ruby Chandler.
She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., has been a Hornet cheerleader and served as Miss Junior 2018-2019. Her academic excellence has landed her on the President’s List and the Dean’s List.
Miss Warner’s post-graduation plans are to pursue a Master’s degree in Accounting with the goal of becoming a Certified Public Accountant.
Her primary message during her reign: “It’s not about where you start, but how you finish. It’s time to turn your dreams into reality.”
