Fireside Chat with Justice Montgomery-Reeves

Wednesday, February 5, 2020

The University community got to know the newest Delaware Supreme Court member during the Feb. 5 event “A Fireside Chat with Justice Tamika Montgomery-Reeves.”

University President Tony Allen, who facilitated the discussion, shared the stage with Justice Montgomery-Reeves – the first African-American to sit on the state Supreme Court as the well as the youngest member to ever serve on Delaware’s high court.

Justice Montgomery-Reeves shared the story of her rise in the legal profession that led to her historical appointment and described the work of a state Supreme Court Justice. She also gave her wisdom on the requisite skills needed to succeed in the legal profession, and shared other aspects of her life with the gathering – a crowd that filled the Longwood Auditorium in the Bank of America Building.
