Board of Trustees Recognize University Employees
The University Board of Trustees took time during its June 18 regular public meeting to recognize Delaware State University employees for their work and service during the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic.
The Board unanimously approved the following resolution:
Resolution of Delaware State University’s Board of Trustees
In Recognition and Profound Appreciation of the Distinguished Service by University Employees
Duly Passed on June 18, 2020
WHEREAS, in March 2020, the Governor of the State of Delaware issued a Declaration of a State of Emergency due to the public health threat created by COVID-19; and
WHEREAS, the Delaware State University Administration, Staff and Faculty (“University employees”) have collectively played an important role in being flexible, adaptable and creative in their efforts to manage the COVID-19 crisis; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees recognizes the extraordinary efforts that University employees, from the front-lines to the administration, have exhibited in assuming additional roles and responsibilities to ensure the health and safety of the campus community and continuity of services; and
WHEREAS, the University stands tall, having commendably managed this crisis to date and prepared to continue to do so in the future.
IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, that the Delaware State University Board of Trustees formally acknowledges and extends its profound appreciation to the University’s employees for their service and dedication to advancing the mission of the University during the COVID-19 pandemic.
I, Devona E.G. Williams, Ph.D., the undersigned Chair of the Board of Trustees, hereby certifies that a quorum of the Board of Trustees were present at a meeting duly and regularly called, noticed, convened and held on this 18th day of June 2020, and that the foregoing Resolution was duly adopted by the affirmative vote of a majority of Trustees.
