DSU welcomes its new Registrar – Dr. Genita Mangum
Delaware State University has named Dr. Genita Mangum as the institution’s new Registrar.
In her new leadership role overseeing the University’s Office of Records and Registration, Dr. Mangum succeeds Jackie Brockington, who unexpectedly passed away on Dec. 23, 2023.
“Dr. Genita Mangum, the new University Registrar, brings almost twenty years of Registrar experience and higher education knowledge to Delaware State University,” said Antonio Boyle, Senior Vice President of DSU’s Division of Strategic Enrollment Management. “Join me in welcoming Dr. Mangum to the University family.”
Dr. Mangum – who brings almost 20 years of the experience in academic records and enrollment management – comes to DSU after serving as the Registrar for Harrisburg Area Community College, in Harrisburg, Pa. from 2014-2023. During that period, she was also the interim Dean of Enrollment Management during the last seven months of 2015. She began her work at that institution as the Associate Registrar from 2011-2014.
She began her career as the Coordinator, Minority Affairs and Admissions Specialist at her alma mater Tunxis Community College in Farmington, Conn., from 2005-2011.
She earned Associates Degrees in Criminal Justice and General Studies from Tunxis Community College (2002 and 2003); a Bachelor of Science in Criminology from Central Connecticut State University in New Britain, Conn. (2004); and a Master of Arts in Education: Community Counseling from Saint Joseph College in West Hartford, Conn. (2008).
Dr. Mangum completed a Doctor of Management in Community College Policy & Administration from the University of Maryland Global Campus in Adelphi, Md. (2013). She also possesses a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Higher Education Compliance from Drexel University’s Thomas R. Kline School of Law in Philadelphia, Pa. (2021).
