Empower Student Leadership Conference – photos

Delaware State University held its 2nd annual Empower Student Leadership Conference on Jan 31-Feb. 1 in the Martin Luther King Jr. Student Center.

The two-day conference – under the theme of “Unveiling Leadership: The Leader Within” – was hosted by the DSU Office of Undergraduate Research, Experiential Learning and Honors (URELAH).  The annual event is designed to enhance students’ leadership capabilities and knowledge for both positions they may hold as part of their undergraduate journey and for the leadership roles they will have in their future careers.

The keynote speaker was Dr. Shaquille Dillon, VP of Marketing Strategy Impact and Innovation, Hutson-Tillotson University in Austin, Texas

The conference featured sessions and panel discussions with leadership professionals, DSU alumni and other facilitators. The session topics include Inclusive Leadership Practices, Effective Communications Strategies, Mental Well-Being for Student Leaders, Balancing Academics and Leadership, Cultivating Inclusive Campus Cultures, Emotional Intelligence in Leadership and Brand YOUniversity.

There was also a 3E Expo that included the following employer partners: the Appoquinimink School District, Braven, ChristianaCare, Harrington Trust, JP Morgan Chase & Co., KPMG International, NeighborhoodGood Partners, New Castle County Public Works, Teach For America, The Washington Center, and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.Attendees of the conference took time out for a group shot.
