DSU represents at Philadelphia Phillies’ HBCU Day

Delaware State University was among the Historically Black Colleges and Universities participating in the June 19 Philadelphia Phillies HBCU Day at Citizens Bank Park.

Held before the Phillies home game against the San Diego Padres, University representatives from Institutional Advancement, Alumni Affairs, and Communications & Market met with prospective students and provided them with information about DSU.DSU Concert Choir member Yancy Hollis (center) was joined by her sisters Madison and Makaya in singing the National Anthem.

Highlights of DSU’s participation in HBCU Day included a spirited Step Show performance by the University’s Psi Epsilon Chapter of Omega Psi Phi, as well as a magnificent rendition of the Star Spangled by a trio of sisters of which included DSU Concert Choir member Yancy Hollis who sang the National Anthem in front of more than 44,445 fans before the baseball game began. Yancy sang with her sisters Madison and Makaya Hollis.

DSU joined Howard University, Cheney University, and Lincoln University (Pa.) at the HBCU Day at Citizens Bank Park.
