During a “Fireside Chat” segment, DSU President Tony Allen responded to questions from Dr. Patricia Gilliam. Dr. Allen shared his three “Big Rocks” of goals that the University will strive to achieve:

  • Responsible Growth that meets students wherever they are in the world and provides them with a value-based preparatory experience for a smaller, more connected world.
  • A Student-first culture that focuses on how well we prepare our students and how thoughtfully we treat each other in the process.
  • An accountable customer service experience that treats our stakeholders with dignity and respect, even in the toughest situations.

A morning and afternoon workshop on transformation and change was led by guest facilitator Artis Hampshire-Cowan, Esq., the founder and principal of Leveraged Leadership Group, LLC and a Senior Fellow of the Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges.

The 2024 Faculty Institute ended with a barbecue and karaoke reception on the Student Center Complex basketball court.
