Delaware State University Freshman Wins Sodexo’s Grateful Plateful Sweepstakes

Delaware State University freshman Seth Reid is one of 10 winners of Sodexo’s national “Grateful Plateful Sweepstakes,” a promotion designed to give students across the country a chance to win a charitable donation in their name. 

The sweepstakes, part of Sodexo’s fall resident dining campaign, awarded Reid a $1,250 donation, which he chose to direct to the DSU Campus Food Pantry — a resource on campus that provides food and hygiene items to students in need. 

“I chose the DSU Campus Food Pantry because I know how impactful it is to have access to resources like this,” Reid said. “It’s more than just food — it’s about providing comfort and stability to students who might be struggling.” 

Reid, who understands the challenges of limited resources, added, “I wanted to give back to the community and show my support.” 

In addition to the donation, Reid received a $575 Visa gift card to host a themed campus cookout to share “gratitude” and “grati-food” with friends, both new and old. 

“My goal for the cookout is to create a space where students can connect, share gratitude, and feel a sense of community,” Reid said. “It’s my way of saying thank you to DSU and showing my appreciation for everyone who has been part of my journey.” 

“We’re so proud to call Seth Reid one of our own — not only as a bright student, but as a significant member of the SodexoMAGIC team at DSU,” said Licelis Lamboy-Brewington, Sodexo’s general manager at Delaware State University. 

“As the winner of Sodexo’s Grateful Plateful Sweepstakes, which granted a generous donation, Seth’s contribution to DSU’s Food Pantry shows his dedication to supporting a cause that is vital to the campus community,” Lamboy-Brewington added. “His donation will help address food and nutrition challenges and support this pivotal program on campus.”
