DSU’s Lori Crawford exhibits her artwork in Wilmington
A current exhibition in Wilmington featuring the work of a DSU art faculty member explores the adverse effects of climate change on the world.
Lori Crawford, an Associate Professor of Art and the Chair of the Department of Mass Communications, Visual & Performing Arts, is featuring her work in an exhibition entitled “Environmental Just(ice) Mercy” at the Delaware Division of the Arts Mezzanine Gallery in the Carvel Building in Wilmington.
The exhibition was inspired by a trip Ms. Crawford took to Hawaii, which led her to create works that contrast that tropical island’s natural beauty with the perils of climate change.
Ms. Crawford said she hopes visitors to the exhibition will gain a new appreciation for the dangers of climate change.
“I hope that there’s something for everyone, that you will see some pretty beautiful images, but also getting us to think and act is what I hope people will walk away with,” she said.
The exhibition is on the 2nd floor of the Carvel Building, 820 N. French St., Wilmington, Del. It is free and open to the public and can be seen during the day on weekdays. The exhibition will be on display until Jan. 8.
