
Five DSU members named “Most Influential” by Delaware Online
Five members of the DSU community have been named among the News Journal/Delaware Online’s “Most Influential People for 2025” in the First State.
DSU Athletics Director Tony Tucker and new DSU Head Football Coach DeSean Jackson are noted among the “Most Influential in Sports.”
AD Tucker, a former high school Player of the Year in Delaware and former member of the UD Blue Hens basketball team, is recognized for his work to “raise the status and win percentages of DSU teams” and his leadership in the University’s Athletics Transformation initiative.
Coach Jackson, a former All-Pro NFL receiver during a 15-year career with the Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Redskins (now-Commanders), and several other teams, is lauded for accepting the challenge of revitalizing the DSU Football Program.
Dr. Shelly Rouser, Chair of the DSU Education Department – Among the “Most Influential in Education.” The honor recognizes Dr. Rouser for her leadership in the establishment of the Early Childhood Innovation Center on the DSU campus, which works to raise the professionalism and skills of childcare providers in the First State.
Dr. Janice Nevin, ChristianaCare CEO and member of the DSU Board of Trustees – Among the “Most Influential in Business.” As the first-ever woman to lead ChristianaCare as its CEO, she is recognized for supervising the largest workforce – more than 13,900 workers – of any employer in the First State, except for State Government.
Kailyn Lowry, DSU Alumna – Among the “Most Influential in Social Media.” The Class of 2017 Mass Communications graduate – who starred on the “Teen Mom 2” MTV reality show while completing her undergraduate studies at DSU, is noted for leveraging her previous fame into a “thriving social media brand” that now has more than 8 million followers.
