Support Dr. Ulysses Washington Endowed Scholarship

Dr. Ulysses S. Washington was the longtime chair of Delaware State University’s Department of Agriculture, who began his long tenure as an Assistant Professor of Agriculture Education and Farm Mechanics in 1949. He later became the acting chair of the department in 1967 and the permanent chair in 1971, a leadership post he held until his retirement in 1991. Dr. Washington also served for many years as a Hornet Assistant Football Coach and as Head Coach for two years in the 1960s. He also served as the Institution's Grand Marshal, carrying the Institution’s mace at Convocations, Commencements, and other special events for 41 years, from 1953 to 2004.
